Woodland Animals Patterns and Halves

A frog, a bird, a frog, a bird... what comes next? Twenty-four pattern rows ask your child to spot what repeats and put the next animal in the empty box. Then twenty-four woodland animals are cut in half and put back together again. Every animal is our own original drawing, from the same woodland as our matching game.

FOUR LEVELS ★

✓ Level 1 - AB patterns: two animals take turns.

✓ Level 2 - AAB, ABB and AABB patterns.

✓ Level 3 - ABC patterns with three animals.

✓ Level 4 - look closely! The animals in these rows look alike on purpose - a doe and a stag, a snail and a slug, a two-spot and a nine-spot ladybug - so your child has to look at antlers, shells and spots, not just colours.

The answers to cut out sit on their own page, one row per level, and an answer key is at the back.

MATCH THE HALVES ★

HOW TO USE ★

Print the pattern rows and the answers page, and cut out the answers along the dashed lines.

Say each row out loud - "frog, bird, frog, bird..." - and put the animal that comes next in the empty box.

Glue it down, or laminate the pages and use sticky tack or hook-and-loop dots to play again and again.

PRINTING ★

Print at 100 percent, not "fit to page", so everything stays the size it was drawn.

Use the US Letter file on US Letter paper and the A4 file on A4 paper.

Is anything posted to me? No. This is a digital download - nothing is shipped.
