Ocean Fish Patterns and Halves

A seahorse, an angelfish, a seahorse, an angelfish... what comes next? Twenty-four pattern rows ask your child to spot what repeats and put the next fish in the empty box. Then twenty-four ocean fish are cut in half and put back together again. Every fish is our own original drawing, from the same set as our ocean fish matching game.

FOUR LEVELS ★

✓ Level 1 - AB patterns: two fish take turns.

✓ Level 2 - AAB, ABB and AABB patterns.

✓ Level 3 - ABC patterns with three fish.

✓ Level 4 - look closely! The fish in these rows look alike on purpose - a shark and a hammerhead, a manta ray and a stingray, two clownfish with different bands - so your child has to look at heads, fins and stripes, not just colours.

The answers to cut out sit on their own page, one row per level, and an answer key is at the back.

MATCH THE HALVES ★

✓ 24 fish cards with a red line down the middle: cut each one in half, mix the halves and put every fish back together. The second page uses the look-alike fish, for a harder game.

HOW TO USE ★

Print the pattern rows and the answers page, and cut out the answers along the dashed lines.

Say each row out loud - "seahorse, angelfish, seahorse, angelfish..." - and put the fish that comes next in the empty box.

Glue it down, or laminate the pages and use sticky tack or hook-and-loop dots to play again and again.

PRINTING ★

Print at 100 percent, not "fit to page", so everything stays the size it was drawn.

Use the US Letter file on US Letter paper and the A4 file on A4 paper.

Is anything posted to me? No. This is a digital download - nothing is shipped.
