Woodland Colour Houses

A red cardinal, an orange pumpkin, a yellow duckling, a green frog... Every piece belongs in one of eight little houses. Your child picks a piece, says its colour out loud and puts it in a window of the house that is the same colour. When all four windows are full, the house is done. Every picture is our own original drawing, and Rufus the fox himself is one of the orange pieces.

TWO LEVELS ★

✓ With hints: each window shows a grey shadow of the piece that belongs there, so even the youngest child can match the shape as well as the colour.

✓ Without hints: empty windows, so your child sorts by colour alone.

Start with two houses and their eight pieces, and add a house when those feel easy.

HOW TO PLAY ★

Print the houses and the pieces, and cut out the pieces along the dashed lines.

Mix the pieces up. Pick one, say its colour out loud, and put it in a window of the house that is the same colour.

Print in colour - this is a colour game.

MAKE IT LAST ★

Laminate the houses and the pieces and use sticky tack or hook-and-loop dots, and the game comes out again and again.

PRINTING ★

Print at 100 percent, not "fit to page", so everything stays the size it was drawn.

Use the US Letter file on US Letter paper and the A4 file on A4 paper.

COMMON QUESTIONS ★

When do I get it? Straight after your payment clears. Etsy emails you a download link and the files also sit under Purchases in your Etsy account.

Is anything posted to me? No. This is a digital download - nothing is shipped.

Do I need special software? No. It is an ordinary PDF. Any phone, tablet or computer opens it, and any home printer prints it.
